For parents

Nursery fee subsidy

The benefit “Active in the nursery” (Aktywnie w żłobku) lowers the fee for your child's place in the nursery. It does not depend on income and is not paid to parents: it goes to the nursery's account. Applications are submitted to ZUS after your child starts at the nursery. Children covered by the programme pay 0 zł tuition, and others pay 850 zł a month.

What applies today

The main support is the government benefit “Aktywnie w żłobku”, paid by ZUS (the Polish Social Insurance Institution). It can be up to 1,500 zł per child per month, regardless of income. For a child with a disability certificate who needs constant care, it can be up to 1,900 zł a month.

The benefit cannot be higher than the fee for the child's stay. It applies when the child attends a nursery entered in the register of nurseries and children's clubs.
