Nursery funding in Poznań: who can apply and how?

In brief
As of 18 October 2026, ZUS pays the “Aktywnie w żłobku” (Active in the Nursery) benefit. Parents can receive it regardless of income if their child attends a nursery entered in the register of nurseries and children’s clubs. It can be up to 1,500 zł a month per child and is paid to the nursery.

Which support can parents receive?
The main support is the “Aktywnie w żłobku” benefit, paid by ZUS. It does not depend on family income. For a child with a disability certificate who needs constant care, the amount can be up to 1,900 zł a month.
The benefit cannot be higher than the fee for the child’s stay. It goes to the nursery and lowers the fee you pay. It is not available when a child attends the kindergarten.
Who can apply?
A parent, a legal guardian or a person to whom a court has entrusted the care of the child can receive the benefit.
The child must attend a nursery entered in the register of nurseries and children’s clubs. The benefit cannot be combined with other benefits under the “Aktywny rodzic” programme, for example “Aktywnie w domu”.

How to apply, step by step
Start your child’s stay
You can apply only after your child has started attending the nursery.
Apply within 2 months
An application made within 2 months of the start of the stay covers the whole first month. After that, the benefit is paid from the month in which you apply.
Send the application to ZUS
You submit it to ZUS through PUE/eZUS or the mZUS app. Forms and details are on gov.pl.
Check the payment
The benefit is paid to the nursery by the 20th day of each month for the previous month.

The MALUCH+ 2022–2029 programme co-funded 40 childcare places for children under 3 at our nursery, for 36 months. This is a separate form of support from the benefit for parents. Find out more on the MALUCH+ page.
Common questions about funding
Does the benefit depend on income?
No. The “Aktywnie w żłobku” benefit is available regardless of family income.
Can I get the benefit for the kindergarten?
No. The benefit is for a child attending a nursery, not a kindergarten.
Can I apply before my child starts?
No. You can apply only after your child starts attending the nursery, ideally within 2 months.
