Activities in the nursery

We provide care and engaging activities for children aged 1 to 3. The little ones take part in creative themed, musical and art play. Our qualified staff look after them, so you can feel at ease and not worry about your child's safety.

Nursery activities are also a gentle adaptation to starting kindergarten, so that the move to kindergarten is calmer. Another plus: the nursery and the kindergarten are in the same building, so children get to know the kindergarten space in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the nursery for?

Magiczna Kraina nursery takes children aged 1 to 3. It is in Poznań (Podolany), in the same building as the kindergarten, so children can get to know the kindergarten space before they start there. Children are admitted in the order in which applications are received.

What do the registration fee and tuition cover?

The registration fee of 400 zł reserves a place on the list of admitted children. It covers accident insurance, occasional gifts and teaching aids. Tuition covers extra activities, including English and rhythm.

How much are meals, and when are they paid?

Meals cost 18 zł per day. They are paid in arrears, by the 5th day of each month. You only pay for days your child attends, and a day of absence reported in advance is not charged.

Is the nursery co-funded by MALUCH+?

Yes. Places at the nursery were created with funds from the MALUCH+ 2022–2029 programme. The funding covers 40 childcare places for children under 3, for 36 months. Details are on the MALUCH+ funding page.

What are the opening hours?

The nursery is open Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 17:00. The daily plan shows what the day looks like. Questions about your child's stay can be sent by phone or email, using the contact details on the website.

What is settling in like at the nursery?

Children are divided into two small groups, and each group has permanent carers. Before you start, talk to them about your child's habits, food, sleep and what calms them down. In the first days, agree together how long your child stays. The first weeks can bring changes in eating and sleep, which is a natural reaction to a new place.

What should I bring on the first day?

Bring spare clothes and underwear, spare shoes, clothing for the weather and a soft toy or favourite item. Label everything with your child's name. You usually do not need to bring food, because children are fed during the day.

Does the nursery support speech development?

Yes. At the nursery, children are under early speech-therapy observation. When needed, we run individual sessions once a week. If we notice something worth checking, we talk with the parents and agree on the next steps.

How many children are in a group?

The nursery has two groups, with up to 20 children in each. Three adults look after each group.

When is the nursery closed?

The nursery is closed at Easter, on the May holiday, on Corpus Christi, on Independence Day, and from Christmas Eve to the end of the year. The summer break starts at the end of July and lasts until early August. The full calendar is on our events page.

Can a sick child come to the nursery?

No, if your child has a fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or a rash. A child with a mild runny nose who feels well can usually join the group. Our rules for returning after an illness are in the article on our blog.

What happens if my child becomes ill during the day?

We call you, and your child waits with a carer until you collect them. In an emergency we call 112.

Does the nursery give medicine?

Only with the parent's written consent and a doctor's recommendation.

Is the nursery open in July and August?

Yes, apart from the summer break. The break starts at the end of July and lasts until early August.

Is the nursery closed during the winter holidays?

No. The only winter closure is the Christmas break, from Christmas Eve to the end of the year.
